Disaster Training

Disaster search canine readiness pre-evaluation training for K-9 teams preparing for FEMA urban search and rescue evaluation processing.

The K-9 handler will train in performance, criteria, and evaluation guidelines.

The K-9 and handler will be trained to the highest standards in the following elements descriptions.

Element 1: Obedience

Element 2: Bark alert / alert behavior

Element 3: Direction and control

Element 4: Agility

Other K-9 training available at PAW SAR INC training center:

• Wilderness search
• Water search shoreline / boat
• Cadaver search

Please note: K-9 training is a very serious commitment of the K-9 handler to his / her dog and together, they become a team. This type of training can not be performed in a day or a weekend one time course as given by some search and rescue groups.
